Classes

Whether you're a beginner intermediate, or expert crafter, BBB is committed to teaching you jewelry-making skills.  Our classes are basic stringing, knotting, and wire work techniques; plenty of inspiration and project ideas.  We have a multitude of designs for necklaces, bracelets, and earrings.  We have plenty of projects for any style- whether your look is modern or classic. 
Where do I start?
Intro to Basic Beading and Intro to Wire.  Our classes will teach you how to create, wear, give and be your own jewelry entrepreneur.

We are also committed to educating you about beads and jewelry-making components, and the history of beads and beading. 


Q   How do I Register for a class?
View our calendar select the class and date.  You may call or stop by to register.  We also  accept appointments on our classes.

Class Policy

 There are NO CLASS REFUNDS, unless canceled by Bonita Bead Boutique. A 24 hour notice is required if you cannot attend a class. A class credit will be issued and may only be used to transfer to another class. There is a $5.00 fee on all transfers. Failure to give 24 hours’ notice will result in forfeiture of class fees. Class space is confirmed upon receipt of payment, Class registrations are sold on a first-paid first-served basis and seating space. 
Note:  Please arrive 30 minutes prior to class to select your project materials as all classes begin on time.

Stringing Projects

 

 Knotting Necklace

Learn the traditional and versatile technique of knotting with silk cord. In this class, you will learn to knot silk cord between beads to create a necklace that is both classic and beautiful. Finish your piece with a clamshell and your clasp.

3-Strand Necklace

You'll get numerous compliments when you wear your own one-of-kind three strand Necklace use Vintage Glass beads, or Czech Glass.

Intro to Beading

You will learn the fundamentals of bead stringing.  In this class you will be using "Beadalon" to string a strong, flexible wire cable coated with nylon.  You will be able to create clean, finished ends and make necklaces, bracelets and other jewelry that you wish.

Spring & Summer Bracelet

Add a personal touch by embellishing it with your favorite dangles and charms.

Illusion Necklace

Float beads or pearls in their own orbit using nylon monofilament cord, with unbelieveable strength, or soft and supple beading wire, and crimps

Lariat Necklace

Lariat Necklace is usually 48” long but you will be able to wear it several different ways: It could be worn short, two-strand necklace by wrapping it around your neck twice or wear it as a bracelet by wrapping it around your wrist several times. Wearing your lariat necklace you don’t have a clasp to connect. Just is fun to wear the way you want!

Multi-Strand Necklace

This class focuses on professional functioning design concepts for necklaces and bracelets. Your designs will branch out considerably from fun chic looks to classic elegant attire. You will be able to construct amazing pieces with the use of cones and spacer bars. This is a great class for designers or those who want to achieve the look of a designer piece. This class is also excellent for creating a treasure necklace or bridal and formal wear.

Designing with Color

We'll explore various ways of creating new designs using the color wheel, including some ideas presented by traditional color theory.  Examples will be provided.  Bring your set of your most challenging beads you know, the ones that you are still trying to put together.

Wire & Chain Projects




Briolette or Drop Earrings

These side drilled beads are made to lie flat.  With round wire you can manipulate any bead so that it will face the correct direction.  Can also make into charms.

Swirl Bracelet

Why not?  Copper and Silver beads adds a nice touch to the double-coiled piece.

Bead and Chain Bracelet 

Wire wrap to chain.  The chain gives great features to the beads.

Viking Knit Bracelet

You will learn this ancient knitting wire project without using needles but using a few simple tools.  Create a Viking knit bracelet embellished with beads.  Finish the bracelet with a handmade clasp.

In this bracelet, jump rings, wire, and a good sprinkle of pearls and a few silver beads.  Makes a great gift for that special person.

             Byzantine Chainmaille Bracelet 

 

         Learn to create this wonderful Byzantine link pattern and wire wrap the beads to finish this classic looking bracelet.

Making a Cage Bead add accents to your design you can also add different size of beads this technique you can wire wrap link, use jump rings or use eye pins to complete your design.

You can either attach beads with wrapped loops or string them right on the wire. These earrings are perfect if you're looking for bohemian style!

    Queens Link Earrings

Box or Queen's Link earrings. These are elegant and versatile earrings that can be dressy or worn casually. This chainmaille weave is sturdy, and lends itself well to bracelets, necklaces, or other chainmaille objects. It can be made smaller, with 18 ga 6 OD jump rings.

Create your own unique bead ring. Learn to manipulate the wire to design your ring band. This class will show you how to add creativity and style to your simple accessory.

  Intro to Earrings

Earrings are an accessory that can be worn anytime with anything for any occasion. This class will provide you with design skills, techniques and practice to become confident with your projects. You will experiment with short sophisticated, dangles, and long earrings with movement and elegance. Once you’ve mastered these simple techniques, you can actually complete a pair of one-of-a-kind earrings.

Intro to Metal Clay

This metal clay course will introduce you to the basics of working and creating with silver precious metal clay!  Let our creative spirit out and learn to make your OWN SILVER JEWELRY!  You will create and finish multiple pieces using PMC3.  You will have the opportunity to make stamped earrings, a pendant, and/or charms that can be finished later as a bracelet or necklace.  Projects are defined but flexible allowing you to tap into your own creative side.
